Can I register as a patient at the Centre?
Patients who are residents of the following wards may register at the Summerfield GP and Urgent Care Centre if they wish to do so: Aston, Handsworth Wood, Ladywood, Lozells and East Handsworth, Nechells, Oscott, Perry Barr, Soho, Sparkbrook and Springfield. To do this a patient would need to switch from their current GP practice. We recommend that you are registered at the GP practice near to where you live to improve your access to medical services. Please note that currently if you are registered at the Summerfield GP and Urgent Care Centre then you will not be able to use the urgent care service within the building unless the reason for doing so is an emergency.
Please note that you can find a list of other out of hours services in the downloads section.
Will the Centre offer home visits?
If you are a registered patient at the surgery and are housebound, home visits will be provided. If you are not a registered patient at the Centre, your registered doctor should be able to offer you home visits.
Will the Centre have access to my medical records?
For registered patients, staff will be able to access your medical records. For unregistered patients, when you are seen at the Centre, a detailed full medical background will be taken from you as we do not always have access to your medical records. After you have been treated, a record of your treatment will be sent back to your own GP for their records.
