Due to essential IT maintenance, our clinical systems will be unavailable on Wednesday 29th July 2026 between 10am – 1:15pm. During this time, we have limited access to patient records and some services may take longer than usual.
We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience while this necessary work is carried out to improve our systems. Our team will continue to assist you as best we can, but there may be delays.
If your condition is urgent, please inform a member of staff immediately. For life-threatening emergencies, please call 999.

By car

From London, south east, north west or north east:

  • Travelling from the M1, M40, M42 or M69, follow the signs to the M6
  • Leave the M6 at Junction 6 (Spaghetti Junction) and take the A38 Aston Expressway
  • Follow signs to Birmingham Central
  • Off the Expressway, take the second exit and follow signs to the Convention Centre
  • At the roundabout take the third exit
  • Carry straight on through four sets of traffic lights to a roundabout
  • Go straight over the roundabout and continue along the dual carriageway, past signs for the Jewellery Quarter
  • At the third roundabout turn right onto Dudley Road
  • Take the B4135 – Heath Street
  • Summerfield Urgent Care Centre is on the left hand side of the road

From Wales and the south west:

  • Travelling on the M5, take Junction 3 signposted Birmingham Central
  • At the exit roundabout, take the A456 signposted Birmingham City Centre
  • Continue for three miles to the outer ring road and signs for Winson Green A4040 and turn left onto Barnsley Road and then right onto Sandon Road
  • Turn left onto City Road and continue one mile to the T Junction with Dudley Road
  • Turn right onto Dudley Road
  • Go through the first set of traffic lights and take the first left turn onto B4135 – Heath Street
  • Summerfield Urgent Care Centre is on the left hand side of the road

By Bus

The local bus routes that go to the Centre are the 11, 66, 66A, 80, 81, 82, 87 and the 88 that stops outside City Hospital’s main entrance which is an eight minute walk away.

By Train

The nearest train station is Birmingham New Street. Buses serving New Street Station and City Hospital are 80, 81, 82, 87, 66, 11 and the 88.

Taxis

There are also taxis available from the train station.
